Asia Trip Journal

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 23, 2009, 10:53 PM

Day 1:
Got woken up at 4am to get to the airport by 7, for the flight at 9am..The flight was boring, I had a 20 minute nap, watched a few movies and played bejeweled for a while, had breakfast, which made me feel rather sick about an hour later and I refused to eat anything else. We arrived in Singapore for an hour or so stop over to catch the plane to Kuala Lumpar, which was an extra 45 mins from Singapore. We arrived to the hptel, we are staying at the Merridion which is right across the road from Sentral Station. We had some dinner at one of the restaurants here and then sat at the bar for a bit before going to bed.

Day 2:
Not much today, we caught the train to KLCC which is the city and where all the shopping is..boutique shopping anyway, was all too expensive so we hopped on a buss and went down the street abit til we got to the shops we had gone to last time we were here, I bought a camera battery charger cause I couldn't find mine at home, we got aout 20 DVDs to bring home, of course all dodgy lol but whatever works, Josh [my cousin] complained about everything we did, about the food, about being hungry and then not eating, and it was getting on my nerves, he needs a good smack across his backside. We got back to the hotel and we had booked to eat at the Italian restaurant here but then we got kicked off the list cause the girls who booked it didn't tell us there was a private function going on, so we wondered over to the Hilton Hotel next door and ate there, the food was nice. came back, hopped on the net to check some stuff and listened to people sing on the stage, which made me giggle, was almost like bad asian kareoke.

Day 3:
We had booked a tour to go to an Elephant Sanctuary, but along the way we stopped at the Deer park, and got to feed some deer, and look at other animals they had, I got to hold a ferret, he was soooo adorable, but he smelt very musty, my arms still smell like him, need to shower lol. I also got to pat a Honey bear, he was a very big boy, and his teeth were huge! got alot of photos at the Deer park, after that we headed off to a small village and had lunch at a local cafe kinda place, we had jasmine rice and chicken, after that we headed down the road to the Elephants, watched a small documentary about what they did and how the moved the Elephants around to a larger rain forest area in Malaysia. Then we got to go outside and take pics and such, and feed them, dad, Rowen and Josh got to ride a large bull Elephant into the river and they got dunked once he layed down was kinda funny, everyone gasped and thought they were gonna get crushed. I got to feed some baby elephants and pat them, they felt so weird and very leathery, it was a bit of a let down today, but it was nice to see one of the villages, its such a huge change from then in the city.

Day 4:
Today we were picked up late afternoon for another tour, we took yet another de-tour to go see some monkeys, they were so adorable and tiny, specially the babies. We got to feed them and I had one cheeky bugger hop up onto my shoulder as I fed him. I managed to get alot of good photos of them, then from there we headed to dinner at a nearby village where we had rice and seafood. After dinner we went out further down to lake to were we got on some paddle boats to go watch the fireflies. They were so amazing, they really looked like little flickers of fire. The whole day was amazing, the highlights were definitely those two.

Day 5:
Today wasn't one of the begter tours, we went to the waterfalls where we had to climb up steep stairs, we were here for about half an hour watching the local kids jump off the edge into the water, dad, Rowen and Josh hopped in, after that we went to the Batu caves...272 steps later. I never want to walk up steps ever again, my legs are so sore..I almost fainted when we reached the top and the humidity wasn't helping anyone. We are now back in the hotel room and I am laying in bed, my legs are extremely stiff and it hurts to walk..but I know I have to go down to the bar if I wanna eat something.

Christmas PPM

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 4, 2009, 2:52 AM

Well it is getting close to that time again, Christmas is practically around the corner, and as I cannot log into the PPM forums anymore I will be posting stuff here and on my facebook.

PPM has barely happened this year due to other things happening on the same day, and also the lack there of, of people actually bringing things they said they would. That is such a huge disappointment to me, Jem and Sabina. We all agree that the first PPM was the best, and I believe everyone else thinks it too.

So this Christmas I would like to hold another get together in the Roma St parklands, a BBQ as usual. Where people actually bring things they said they would, without someone having to rush into town to get a pack of sausages and bread.

Date: 19th December 2009
Time: 10am-1.30/2pm
Where: Roma St Parklands BBQ area.
What to bring: Snacks/drinks/sausages/breads/butters so on so forth. Whatever you would like to bring. Cut down on the lollies as the last few times its all we had!
What to wear: Cosplay or Casual

I hope we can get a big group coming along before Christmas. Come along, meet up with people you havn't seen since maybe the last con, and just have fun.

Remember we need to clean up properly before people start to leave, and not wonder off and leave a huge mess for myself and a few others to clean up.

Hope to see you all there.

Halloween get together, please read :)

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 6, 2009, 3:51 PM

Hello my lovelies, how are we all?

I have an idea to get a group of people together this halloween, Saturday 31st October to come into the city dressed up in their lovely costumes, and we can all get together for a dinner at like the pancake manor and run havok around the city.

Would anyone be interested in this at all? I am just curious to put it out there to have a small get together is all :) I havnt seen some people in a while and it would be nice to catch up with people again.

So if we have enough people and not just em and say 2 others [lol loners..] I will be making a grup booking at the pancake manor, depending how many people RSVP before the 20th, cause as being on a Saturday dunno how quick we would be able to get in and if we could reserve a table either!

Date: Saturday 31st October [Halloween night!]
Where: Brisbane City
What time: 5pm meet up. Hopefully 6/7 pm dinner reservations.

If anyone else has any other ideas for places to eat I am very open to suggestions :) So please leave a comment, a note or send me a message either via text or msn [if you have those details of mine], so we can get this happening :)

Love you all.
